Sandalwood Essential Oil
Sandalwood (Santalum album)
Sandalwood is highly prized, with deeply religious and cultural significance in Asian cultures, Buddhism, and ancient Egypt.
Coming from the heartwood of the Sandalwood Tree, it has a gentleness, a sweet woody aroma.
This oil will stand up to adversity, is aware of it's spirituality, is mindful, simple, yet complex all at the same time. It has intrinsic wisdom, and is the ultimate connection between mind, body and soul.
An uplifting antidepressant, it's delicate and almost ethereal balance calms the mind, and steadies feelings of aggression and isolation. It opens the heart, and harmonises nervous exhaustion, dissipating headaches, and helping with respiratory issues when used in diffusers. Perfect for when coughs, colds are present, and it also calms skin inflammations.
Sandalwood is a cooling oil, associated with the Earth Element, and has an affinity with the Water Element.
Sandalwood is steam distilled from powdered wood chips.
