Oregano Essential Oil
Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
Oreganum is a herbaceous, camphor like oil used extensively by the ancient Greeks.
A stimulating oil, used extensively for helping with coughs, respiratory disorders in steam baths, and stress with gastrointestinal issues.
Described historically as the heavy artillery of essential oils for dealing with bacterial infections, it is really effective in diffusers in times of coughs, colds, and similar ailments. It is powerful, and refreshingly spicy.
It is not however recommended for any topical application to skin as it can be very irritating, and should be used as a minor oil in any blend.
It is steam distilled from the dried leaves.
